Hailed for her “fearless intensity” (Chicago Classical Review) and “intensely valid vocalism” (Voce di Meche), American mezzo soprano Erin Rosales is an up-and-coming young artist who brings dynamic stage presence and sincere musical artistry to the operatic and concert stage. Praised by Chicago Stage Standard for her “creamy” voice, Ms. Rosales is quickly establishing herself as a young artist to watch on the national scene.
Past seasons have included her role and house debut at Opera San José, performing and covering the role of Ines in Verdi’s Il Trovatore. Ms. Rosales also appeared in Fort Worth Opera’s online Masterclass series featuring renowned soprano Jennifer Rowley, and participated in Opera America’s 2020 Career Bridges Program.
The 2018-2019 season marked Ms. Rosales’s debut with the Bronx Opera Company. She performed and covered the role of The Secretary in Menotti’s The Consul as well as reprised the role of Pitti-Sing in an updated version of Gilbert & Sullivan’s The Mikado. She also appeared in Death of Classical/Unison Media’s production of Dido & Aeneas taking place in the catacombs of Greenwood Cemetery. Seen portraying the Second Witch alongside Daniela Mack in the title role, Ms. Rosales’s performance was lauded by OperaWire as “delightfully wicked” and by the Wall Street Journal as “comical yet deadly.”
