Soprano Maria Palombo holds a Master of Music degree and Advanced Certificate in Vocal Pedagogy from New York University. She attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill graduating with degrees in Music and Drama and a minor in Speech & Hearing Science. She has performed professionally at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City, with Opera 691 and with North Carolina Opera. Her favorite university credits include Gianni Schicchi (Lauretta) and La clemenza di Tito (Servilia). She sang the role of Zweite Dame in Die Zauberflöte at the Amalfi Coast Summer Music Festival and at the National Opera Center with New York Lyric Opera. Maria’s NYU credits include the title role in Cendrillon and Monica in The Medium. Most recently, she sang Kiss Me Kate and Night Caps (The Penthouse Suite) with Opera Theater of Pittsburgh as a member of their Young Artist Program. Maria currently serves as the soprano section leader at Nassau Presbyterian Church in Princeton, NJ and sings as an active member of the Philadelphia Symphonic Choir, the official choir of the Philadelphia Orchestra.
