“Crystalline and agile” soprano Laura Kosar enjoys a diverse career as a singer and music teacher. As a concert soloist, she has performed in Orff’s Carmina Burana, Haydn’s The Seven Last Words of Christ, and the Masses and Requiems of Brahms, Mozart, Schubert, and Bernstein. Operatic highlights include Hansel und Gretel (Gretel), Le Nozze di Figaro (Susanna), Die Zauberflöte (Pamina), Die Fledermaus (Adele), La Bohème (Musetta), and Adamo’s Little Women (Amy). This season Ms. Kosar can be seen with the Princeton Singers, Opera Delaware, the Philadelphia Symphonic Choir, and as a second year Encore Yong Artist with Ars Musica, where she will sing in Dido and Aeneas (Belinda), and as the soprano soloist in Beethoven’s Choral Fantasy. Also a passionate educator, Ms. Kosar maintains a private voice and piano studio, directs the youth choir at St. James the Less, and teaches K-3 general music at the Riverbank Charter School of Excellence. She holds a Bachelor of Music in Music Education from the University of Delaware, and a Master of Music in voice performance and pedagogy from Westminster Choir College.
